I have delivered more than 700 sermons, presentations, and workshops for churches, religious organizations, and conferences. Because I have a full-time job, I currently can speak and consult with only up to fifteen churches or religious organizations each year. You can check out my availability at the bottom of this page.

Christianity Isn’t Dying
With Pew Research Center major report about the Nones all over the news and again on the front cover of USA Today, people of faith are worried. And that leads to a bunker mentality or to panic. Too many wonder if Christianity is dying. It’s the question I get asked most often and it opens wonderful conversations for what Christians can do in a pluralistic world where we no longer have home-field advantage.
How to Move Past Generational Sticking Points
We’ve never faced five generations of church before and we are struggling to figure out how to reach the younger generations. But when we do, the older generations get restless because it no longer feels like their church. This presentation will show you how to move your church past generational sticking points so it can reach and minister to all generations.
How to Pass on Your Faith to Your Children (and What to Do If They Are Drifting)
Two out of every three youth group graduates will drop out of church for at least a year between ages 18 and 23. One-third will leave the faith and not come back. But there’s some amazing research that shows us what works and what pushes young people away.
How to Reach Millennials and Generation X
The 6 Change Reactions
When they announce changes, leaders tell their people that change is a fact of life. But there are two other facts of life: people respond to change in six ways and it’s not the change itself, it’s the emotions those changes stir up that creates problems. When leaders ignore The 6 Change Reactions, they make change harder than it needs to be. Learn how to create a change wave rather than struggle against the emotions and resistance.
How to Move through Growth Barriers
Whether the church is 180 or 5,800 in size, it faces growth plateaus. Understanding the barriers that hold back or slow down growth is the biggest step toward moving past them.
If you want something more customized for your group, just tell me what you need because custom is fun. The above presentations are popular because they work, but what I love most is to customize a presentation based on what a group needs.
Recently, I spoke with a large church in Kansas City and one of the leaders asked if I could preach in their four worship services about generational differences and lead training for their staff and volunteer leaders. But as I listened for a half hour as they described the challenges and opportunities of their church, it became clear to all of us that in addition to understanding generational differences, their staff and volunteer leaders needed to understand growth plateaus, The 6 Change Reactions, and developing lay leaders.
That’s what I love to do: listen to what you need and then pull pieces from these topics and other content, add in a dose of my expertise, and propose something that exactly meets your needs. If God has the hairs on our heads numbered, then a speaker at least ought to pay attention to what you want. If I can’t deliver what you need, I’ll tell you.
Want me to speak at your group but can’t afford it or the dates don’t line up? No problem, I’ll jump on the phone with you and learn what you need, customize my presentation for your group or convention, and then videotape it. You can play it for your group as if I were there in person.
The Church of God has benefited immeasurably from hearing Haydn speak at our largest gathering of pastors and church leaders.
— Mark L. Williams, presiding bishop/general overseer, Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee
I don’t know anyone who could have held 350 people’s attention like that for two hours on a Sunday evening so that they were disappointed when you stopped.
— Ben Merold, senior pastor for sixty years and the guy Craig Groeschel says he wants to be when he grows up.
